While getting a master’s degree in creative writing, this frustrated lawyer and mediocre creative writer got the chance to teach a humor textbook as a graduate teaching assistant.

Four semesters of unsuspecting college freshman took Sharla’s humor writing class for their English requirement.

Then, Sharla went to do standup routine and realized she was still outrageously boastful.

During Covid she applied the tools she taught her students to her life, and found years of material for an upcoming book.

She won’t shut up about the many benefits of learning to poke fun at one’s faults.

The jury is still out as to whether she’s right, or funny, but she thinks she is hilarious.
